During the holy month of Ramadan, most followers of Islam observe fasting (Rozah) as a sign of obedience to God and a reminder of being in solidarity with the poor and the needy. The traditional custom of Rozah begins at 04:00 am with Sehri – a pre-dawn meal, and continues from dawn till dusk with the breaking of the fast (Iftari) after sunset.
In order to commemorate the season of Ramadan, Rainbow Tigers, a youth initiative of Gaurav CBO organised Dawat – e – Iftar, an Iftar party at Santacruz on 15th June, 2018. The get-together started with a small ice-breaker where each of the participants introduced themselves by using unique Urdu adjectives based on their personalities. The ice-breaker was followed by a game of Antakshari.
After the Antakshari, one of the participants shared the importance of Ramadan and with a special Iftari prayer, everyone broke the fast and had a wonderful Iftari meal arranged by the organisers.
The QKnit team thanks the Rainbow Tigers Group and Gaurav CBO for organising a wonderful and meaningful Iftari. Eid Mukarak!
